Not much going On

Its been a while since I've posted anything, but there is a reason for that, I didn't feel like it.

Not much is happening at Sugarloaf right now, the golf course will open sometime is June, grass doesn't grow without water, not much rain this may and the pumps for the irrigation have been down because the intake grate was covered with rocks, its all clear now.

The snow is almost gone, melted fast this year, we didn't get any snow in march or april and there wasn't much of a man made base.

Saddleback

I skied Saddleback Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday the conditions were ok, but it was cold, after 6 runs i had enough, its supposed to be warm in april. Thursday was much better, a lot warmer and the quad was open. All of the ungroomed trails were very skiable and the groomed had corduroy all day. Saddleback closes on Sunday, so if you have not been yet, get over there.

Spring Skiing

The mtn was very quiet today, those that did not make it out today missed an awesome day, temps in the 50's and sunny. The snow was very soft and it was probably the first real day of spring skiing.

5 inches of new snow

The new snow today helped bring conditions right back to the way it was before the rain. there are a few icy patches out there but nothing to worry about. The glades are in excellent shape, plenty of powder, yesterday the bumps were a little firm, but todays snow should help make them soft again. Timberline was on wind hold today.

Conditions not bad

Today, I was surprised to find that conditions were not that bad, Glancer, Lower Boomauger and Buckboard were in great condition all packed powder, hayburner wasn't bad too. I skied the trees between Hayburner and Skidder, it wasnt bad and I actually found a lot of powder, the rain really didn't hurt things too bad. Winters Way was quite firm but very skiable. We have another storm coming tomorrow.
